Second stop was a Coptic Church. Known as the Hanging Church, it is the biggest & most famous in Egypt. Why? Because the Virgin Mary stayed here when she left Palestine & there have been miracles observed here - seemingly. One such miracle was an apparition of Mary that appeared on a column in the church. It is now covered by plastic to prevent the Christian faithful from wearing it out through their touching it. Nice little church anyway.
