The Hills Are Alive! Sound of Music Tour

What visit to Salzburg would be complete without a Sound of Music tour? In my mind, none. The tour, lasting about 4 hours, was filled with tunes from the movie filling up the bus trip between sites. Bec & I sang to our hearts delight. We visited various sites featured in the movie ending at the famous fountain the kids danced around – Bec felt compelled to danced about a bit, so had a dance down the stairs. A fun time was had by all!

Tours - Loire Valley

Initially I was going to stay here for 7 nights. Then after seeing my hotel I changed my mind & spent a very long 5 days here. I did 3 trips out to the Chateaux (castles) & saw 7 of them within the area. Some of them are simply breathtaking in their magnificence. My favourite was definitely Chenenceau.

Apart from castles, there's not a lot to do around Tours, especially if you don't have a car (can't go wine tasting). But the old town is quite nice to walk around. And the cheese...to die for. The people, however, are quite close-minded & can tend to be arrogant, especially if you don't speak French. If I had my time over again, I'd speak only 2 nights here.
