17th-27th May - Wandering around London

London. What a vibrant & diversified city it is. I tried to cover as much as I could within the time I had there, often walking for 8-10 hours per day just to take in the sights & atmosphere (no, I didn't lose any weight). Of course, at the end of the day, you do need a decent pub meal & a pint of Guiness to assist in recharging your batteries, & I was more than willing to partake in those opportunities.
The Underground was the best I've visited apart from Beijing who wins hands down. It was relatively clean, quick, with great connections that take you almost smack bang in the centre of where it is you're heading. A tad expensive though, even with an Oyster Card (must have).
In my wanderings, I got to see the Churchill War Rooms (wonderful historical museum), Tate Modern (wow), & quite a few other bits & pieces apart from the sights I've already blogged about. But it was all good fun. Did start to get a bit homesick while here though...
