The BBC news had been building to a cresendo around the story of parliamentarian rorts that was unravelling more as each day progressed. There was news of the Speaker of the House considering resignation, & so my objective for the day was to head on down to the Houses of Parliament for a look see at what was happening. I found myself in the front row given breaking news that inside the Speaker was about to resign, the first time this had happened for more than 300 years. What a thrill it was to be there on that historic date!
